I have a question on abdominal fat. probably walkers and runners would know this best.

My question is if you are overweight, I have heard that by doing cardio, walking,or running will get fat off the abdomen first, and faster than anything else. Then by doing abdominal exercises they will help tone the abdomen after most of the fat is gone. Does this sound right?

Got the news this morning............

One guy that worked for a company that we do a lot of work for passed away last night. So far they are saying that it was the flu (not sure if H1N1). He was not feeling good yesterday, went home and then last night they rushed him to a larger medical centre where he passed away. This guy was only 34 yrs old. I think I am still in a bit of shock!!!

Update: November 20, 2009.
Geez make 3 posts since Nov 2 about H1N1 and that is posting everyday. Where did you learn your math stillhatescreanames???

Is it bad to have a pinched nerve in my calf?

I have it because it is what causes foot drop, but the doctors don't know what causes that or why the nerve got pinched in the first place I suppose.
So I got braces on both my legs so I can walk better otherwise my legs or walking gait are weakened by the foot drop.
But I am just wondering if in the long term is pinched nerves bad to have or they dont do any other damage to the rest of the body?
I heard there is surgery but my doctors never recommended it for me.

This question is for people who have experienced heart failure and/or pulmonary embolisms.

Has anyone ever had a problem with their bottom of their foot itching and you itch so hard it that you itch it raw? Also, was it prior to and or following a heart condition? Mine started early this summer and I know it is not dry skin or fungus as the skin looks very healthy but beneath that it just itches like mad. It is only on one foot and I don't have any plantars warts either. I suffered from heart failure and a pulmonary embolism in August and I am just wondering if they are related? This condition has lightened up a little but never went away. It recently started getting bad again and I am also having more symptoms besides the foot that coincide with heart failure and blood clots in my leg such as shortness of breath, water retention and hot spots on my leg.

Has anyone tried Reebok Toners or a similar shoe?

I do alot of walking and would love to get extra toning on my legs and butt if possible. The shoes are over $100 so I'd like to make sure they are worth the price before I buy.

Now that H1N1 is everywhere...

Do you think that people are washing their hands more, or are there still the ones who leave the bathroom without washing their hands?

Update: November 19, 2009.
Just a follow up to Glasgobelle's response. It was on the news the other night, that some people are substituting hand sanitizers for hand washing. A doctor said that is not a good thing. There are bacteria on our hands that survive without air and so they are still on our hands and only washing out hands can get rid of them.

Who's had swine flu and what are the symptoms? can you tell the difference between it and the

regular flu at all?
One of my coworkers has had it for 2 weeks, 3 times in the last two weeks he came into the office coughing all over me. He thought it was funny.
Now he's off with pneumonia, not so funny anymore is it?
I have not been able to get the shot yet, even thought i have Rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia, as well as several other condtions.
I'm not quite "right" today. My body aches but it's a differnt ache than arthritis or fibro and my pain killers are not touching it. I have a stiff neck and shoulders too.
My eye lids feel heavy like i haven't slept in days, i have slight nausea and feel like i need to sleep badly. I just have an all over feeling of being unwell.
Could i be getting it?
