Ladies, I have a question for youWould you get offended if the ladies around you were complimenting eachother and didn't compliment you? Like what they were wearing. Or would you just brush it off? This happened to me this morning, a couple of my co-workers were exchanging compliments but I didn't get one and I thought I was dressed pretty nice. Anyway, just wondering how you would take that. Thanks Ladies. - Asked by Female, 26-28, Sacramento, Administrative |

I dress for ME, not anyone else. Either they didn't like your outfit or they were jealous of it or they are just rude people that are only nice to certain people. A nice person would say something nice to Everyone, and not just necessarily about clothing.

Not at all. Actually the whole 'kissing your ass and telling you how great you look' crap makes me want to vomit.

Nope. I don't really care about getting compliments, especially from coworkers. And when I do, I tend to just say thanks and go about my business. I also don't think that anybody outright decides "Hey, let's compliment each other and not so-and-so"-- it just might not have been on their radar at that moment. I'm sure you looked lovely, not worth the worry.

I wouldn't worry about it, as long as you feel confident and comfortable with the way you look, what's it matter whether anyone else compliments you or not.

Why do women worry so much about what other women think?

When I get a compliment I want it to be REAL, not just because everyone else got one.

I wouldn't think too much about it either way. Usually, compliments among groups of women are not sincere. They just can't think of much to say, but they think they have to schmooze each other, so one of them starts with "Oooh, I love your dress...." which prompts the girl wearing the dress to respond with something similar, so she goes "Oh, thanks..I just love your hair!" and then a third girl thinks she has to agree with one or both of them so that she won't be left out of the conversation, so she chimes in with "Oh, so do I. It's SO cute! And I love your shoes!"...and blah, blah, blah, on it goes. Don't take any of it seriously.
