do you think opah's channel is like a cult?

i'm watching it now and she has "super soul sundays" and something now where she's reciting "mantras"....

i've seen her channel before and there's always some sort of spiritual class....

it's like indoctrination for tired housewives...

One problem I have with Oprah is that she became far too "powerful" with mostly women who didn't appear to have minds of their own! She is a good entertainer/interviewer .. but she turned into an idol .. very scary.

I do watch some of the things on her network .. mostly the interviews, which I enjoy. But as far as the soul searching/life changing/political stuff .. I would prefer to find those things out in my own way.

No. If you don't believe what she's doing on those programs, don't participate. It's not indoctrination for those who have strong minds and know what they believe. What she's doing might beneficial to many. Many desire that spiritual healing or help that she shows. It's no different than those who watch other programs. It is no more indoctrination than "teen moms" or all of those reality shows. It is no more an indoctrination than listening to philosophers and theorist on television programs.

It's her show and her network. Oprah can do whatever she like. Those who like it watch. Those who don't, really don't have to watch, just change the channel. It's no different than those who watch the Playboy Channel for their own "help" or enjoyment. It doesn't hurt Oprah one bit the millions of haters she has. There are many talk shows on television where people come on and give their views about spirituality or other forms of help. No one says anything about those. So, let Oprah do her thing for those she's actually helping. At least she's trying to be positive in her help. Instead of doing nothing but negatively complaining about how screwed up people are.
