That's very sad. "I wanna dance with somebody". Great song. Makes me want to dance. She was a great artist.

Now you're going to get some smart arse comments from some of the biggest smart arses on the planet for whom the death of another person is an opportunity for lame jokes and petty minded prejudices. Oh, look you already got two of them.

I just saw that.
It's a shame.

I'm not all that surprised since she has been dealing with substance abuse for many, many years and the celebrity blogs were reporting that just a few days ago, she seemed to be back on the pipe and the bottle.

I feel sorry for her daughter and I feel sorry for her.

I'm not sure how all this happened but I will always remember her for singing the BEST version of The National Anthem EVER.
I don't care; NO ONE has ever sung The National Anthem as well as Whitney did it.

She had a most awesome voice.
I hope she's singing with the angels.

Just saw that too. Didn't see that one coming but at the same time I can't really say I'm surprised. That's what drugs will do to ya if you can't shake the habit. She was one of my favorite singers back in the day. It's too bad she couldn't get it together for herself and her daughter.

My question finally posted too with the news- regardless of her lifestyle - she was an icon and a life.
I had a friend die of cancer this week she was 47 - the horrors of her last couple of days but death brought an end to her pain- sucks to live in a world where life and death are so trivial.
