If you got the drop on a Burgler in Your Home with 9 Bullets Ready to Fire, what would You do?

Hold the gun on him while calling the Police to come? Shoot once to Wound or Stop Him?
Shoot untill he falls down? Empty the gun in him?
Or something different? Please explain your action and why you would do it.

I would lock myself in a room and call the police.

However, if they couldn't get there in time and I felt threatened, I would shoot. To wound and incapacitate, not to kill, unless absolutely no other option remained.

I have a problem with taking life. I don't like the idea. However, I often have my little cousin at my house. She's 11. That is more than enough motivation for me to incapacitate and possibly kill anyone that I felt was a threat to her being.

Lock myself in my room, call the cops, barricade the door, yell that I have a gun and I will shoot if he tries to come in, that there is a video camera broadcasting to the net and he better leave because the cops are on their way.

No way am I putting me or my family on danger to protect our possessions, but if he tries to come into our room, I would shoot first ask questions later to protect me and my son.

I was robbed once when I was like 4 or 5. My mom kept my brother and I in the bedroom and let em' get out with what they could, which was smart and the motherly thing to do. That incident pretty much traumatized me when it comes to home invasions so call me territorial, but you intrude on my space without my permission and then try to rob me...I'll be damned if you walk away upright! I'd call the cops eventually. I definitely wouldn't empty the chamber in him that'd be a waste.

I know how to defend myself in hand to hand combat. I don't have a gun, yet. But throwing knives is a hobby of mine. They're hidden about my apartment. Never stab a man in the back; it's not self defense if he's running away.

I wouldn't hesitate to kill someone who broke into my home, whether it be with a gun or some other household item I could use as a weapon.

I have kid's to protect, break into my house and you might as well have signed your own death warrant because only one of us is coming out alive and I plan on making sure it isn't going to be you. lol

I've owned my own gun since I was 11.
I'm retired from the military.
I have a Marksmanship Medal with multiple devices.

My daddy always told me to never point a gun at anything I didn't intend to kill.
The military told me the same.
There's your answer.

As soon as he/she steps foot in the house, I'm going to shoot him/her until she/he is dead and not only merely dead, but really most sincerely dead.

I would shoot and ask questions later. If he/she is in my home, then they are where they do not belong and will be sorry they tried burglary.

There were two instances when I scared intruders off with a gun, and if they had entered my home then all bets are off. They are criminals and don't have the right to take anything from me.

He's in my house taking my stuff and I have the means to take him down? Yeah, bring a body bag cause that's how he's leaving my house. Why you ask? He's in my house. He's planning on taking my things or worse harming me and my family. He's in my house... No, he ain't leaving alive.

It's hard to say what I would or would not do in the heat of the moment. Knowing me I would probably shoot him out of fearing for my life.
