Hi All : )))) Little Bit Of Help Please ?

I was asked by someone to "calculate" their GPA
Since I am European that matter is pretty confusing to me but I would hate not to be able to help them.

If someone finished High School with 85% Average what is their true GPA 3.0 or 2.9 ?


ps: They where not bad student where they college is possibility for them or no ?
