Is their any difference between CLOROX bleach and store brand bleach? Besides price!

My mother and I were debating (ok arguing in the supermarket)about the difference between the brand name CLOROX and the store brand. I said bleach is bleach except with the brand name you're paying more to cover their marketing costs. Mom says somethings are worth spending more because you know what you're getting is better.
Naturally, neither one of us will budge.

Liquid bleach is simply sodium hypochlorite, and the store brand is really the same as Clorox, only usually cheaper. However, Clorox has found a way to add different scents to their bleach so that it does not have such a strong chemical smell. If the improved smell of the product is important to you, then Clorox may be a better buy.

You could do an inexpensive experiment by buying a small bottle of each and testing them at home to see which one performs better for you.

Both Clorox and store brand bleach contain the same compounds. Store brand packaging is plain whereas Clorox has a nicer label and you can purchase different scents.
